Lebron James and the Fulfilling of the American Dream
If anyone had told LeBron James about his future, there would have been no chance to believe it. This 19- year old boy is just living out every kid’s dream. Born in a rural part of Ohio, the perspective of a young black kid is not too promising.

LeBron James made a name for himself in St.Vincent/ St.- Mary Highschool in his hometown Akron real fast. Standing 6 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 109 kg. And being incredible athletic LeBron is the perfect basketball player. When he was a junior in high school the whole nation began to realize how promising this kid was. It seemed like the legacy of Michael Jordan, a thing the league really needed had been found. From this point on a hype developed about LeBron that was never experienced before. The media wouldn’t let go off him and every homegame of his highschool team would be broadcasted around the country. Companies would make offers for sponsoring, someone even gave him a new sports car as a present. LeBron James finally decided to sign a deal with the shoe company Nike. The deal offers him 90 mil. $. which means James went “from rags to riches”. Before LeBron went to the NBA many feared that he was making so much news off the court that these distractions could overshadow his potential as a player. The question was whether an 18- year old kid could deal with such an enormous pressure. Wasn’t the hype going a little too far? In his first year as a professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James has stood up to the great expectations. So far he averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game which are incredible statistics for a freshman.Lets hope for this athlete to stay healthy and down on earth.
