ulricianumtimes.de _ local: Political weekend in Aurich
From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th there will be a weekend of political activities organized by the Antifashist Action Aurich (AAA).
The AAA is a group of mainly young people – students, workers, pupils – who work on themes like the neo-fascist scene in Eastfrisia, local politics and globalization. The members do not agree with the present situation of unequal partition worldwide and the privileges of the western societies. Therefore they try to show other people by little actions like, e.g. the global action day in August, the all-day contradictions we live in.
Of course, everybody who wants to join them is heartily welcome (there is a weekly meeting on Sunday from 5 pm to 10 pm in the youth centre Aurich (JuZ).
During the three action days at the beginning of the Easter holidays, taking place in the youth centre as well, the AAA wants to present its projects to all those who are interested in them.
The weekend starts on Friday at 4 pm with a lecture about deportation. Then there might be another lecture about the death fasting in Turkey and about the problems of the Kurds in Turkey. Afterwards, everyone who likes can listen to the day’s last lecture concerning the neo-fascist structures in the region (6 pm). In between there will be a warm meal offered to the hungry ones for little money.
The evening continues with a concert starting at 8 pm ( performing bands will be ‘Mac Gyver’ – loud – ‘ No Second Time’ –Aurich hardcore – ‘Schaplorenz’ – emo – and last but not least ‘Bonsai’ – punkrock).
On Saturday the day starts with a demonstration against ‘fascism and deportation politics’ at 2 pm. After that there will be another warm cheap meal for everybody and some music. At 5 pm the antifa will show a film about the G8 meeting in Genova last summer and a documentation about neo-nazis. For 8 pm there is another concert planned (‘kettcar’ – ex-ButAlive – ‘Der Trick ist zu atmen’ – emopunk – plus support.
On Sunday the group invites you to a brunch at 12 am. to talk about the weekend, to ‘chill-out’ and possibly to watch another film.
